Why did you leave your most recent position?

The company that currently owns the yacht is having financial difficulties.

What kind of hobbies do you have, or what do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy traveling and visiting new places. My hobbies include diving, any outdoor or water sports, and reading. In my free time I love to simply, relax.

Is the yachting industry a career for you, or more of a sabbatical?

Yachting is not a sabbatical for me but I am not sure yet if it is a career for me. I plan on staying in the industry for a few more years but I can not say for sure if I will be in it in 5 or ten years from now. I enjoy what I am doing and if the right position or oppurtunity came along I would consider a career.

Describe what type of situation on board you feel you would fit in best?

Putting my organizational skills to work.

Chief Steward(ess)
How do you organize yourself to ensure that your work is being kept up with to a high standard?

I keep a detailed inventory of the entire interior, an updated work list, an updated likes/dislikes list for all owners and guests. I keep the interior organized in a way that minimizes the time needed in looking for something.

How do you manage your Stewardesses to ensure that they remain challenged and interested in their job?

The boat always has to stay clean to the standards that I set but changing up routines is important as well as giving them the oppurtunity to challenge themselves with ways to complete a list of jobs to be completed. I believe that all interior crew should at times work side by side the chief stew to better themselves and understand what she goes through.

How do you handle a disappointed or disgruntled Owner?

I feel the best way is to talk to try and figure out what they are disappointed about. Once that is known, everything that is possible with the given means can be done to correct the situation with hopes of turning a bad situation into a positive outcome.

What do you feel is the most important quality for a successful Chief Stewardess to have?

The ability to sucessfully manage the interior crew so that the work is done to a high standard and the crew feels appreciated and respected for the work they put in.

How do you feel the Service, Cabins, and Laundry duties should be shared between the interior crew?

I believe in a full rotation including the chief stew. Every interior crew member should know how to do each others job.
