Why did you leave your most recent position? I was not happy with the vessel as a long term commitment and decided to return to Ft Lauderdale to seek work more as freelance and delivery orientated.
What kind of hobbies do you have, or what do you like to do in your free time?  Love being on the water, Scuba Diving, surfing , currently learning the Guitar, Paddle Boarding, traveling and pretty being active and healthy. I also enjoy anything to do with the Music scene.
Is the yachting industry a career for you, or more of a sabbatical?  A full on Career. I want to comtinue upgrading my Captains License and further gain and share my experience within the boating industry.
Describe what type of situation on board you feel you would fit in best? Im dedicated at any job given to me and I aim to please the employer with the best possible outcome. Im very friendly and easy going and would like to find a position with someone who just has a good work ethic.
Captain
How much freedom do you feel an Owner should allow his Captain in terms of hiring crew? The Captain should have experience in recommending someone for a desired position. If the owner in any way feels that the candidate doesnt fit his needs then the Captain should take that into consideration.
What do you do when you disagree with the Owner? Take the disagreement into consideration and try to work out a way to make both parties happy.
How do you handle conflicts between crew members? I hear both sides of the story and make an effort to determin what is the proper way to proceed.
How much down time do you feel a yacht needs each year, to ensure a safe and happy crew? A weeks worth a month.
How much time is the maximum time that should pass between emergency procedure drills on board? Drills should be performed at least once a month.
What do you feel is the most important quality for a successful Captain to have? Respect.
Mate
How much responsibility should the Mate take on, to provide for a smooth Captain - Mate relationship? The mate should be the captains right hand man, ready to assist whenever he is needed. However being proactive with situations is a necessity.
How would you handle a scenario where two crew members are becoming a couple, on a boat where couples are not allowed? I would discuss with the Captain as to how he feels about the situation.
What can you do to ensure that your Deckhands are kept busy and challenged by their job? Setup a regular maintenance schedule, assign responsibilties and if possible help them to further their schooling certificates.
