Why did you leave your most recent position? 

This season I have worked on M/Y Nourah of Riyad follwed by M/Y Montkaj within the same fleet. I moved onto Montkaj as a within fleet transfer and leave at the end of September as I am employed on a seasonal basis.

What kind of hobbies do you have, or what do you like to do in your free time?  

Sports are my main hobby; I dedicated a lot of time to swimming and have competed in many team sports. I have been involved in sailing since a young child and whilst in Thailand and Australia I fell in love with more watersports including wakeboarding, surfing and diving. In addition I have always been interested in the arts.             

 

Is the yachting industry a career for you, or more of a sabbatical?  

Since working at UKSA I became aware that I could make a long-term career within the yachting industry. Therefore, I aim to take on a junior position and gradually work my way up as I gain more expereince and qualifications.

Describe what type of situation on board you feel you would fit in best? 

I feel that I would fit in well in a position that allows me to learn a variety of skills allowing me to gradually pick up responsibilities as I progress. I hope to be based within a crew of 6 or more as I work best along side others.

What can you do to ensure that guest service remains the primary focus of your job, even when they are difficult or demanding? 

In this situation I would aim to prioritise requests to ensure that I meet service demands in an efficient and professional manner. I feel that one of my main strengths is to withstand stressful situations, remaining calm in order to perform to the best of my ability.

How do you feel the Service, Cabins, and Laundry duties should be shared between the interior crew? 

Personally I hope to be on a boat that allows me to experience all duties as a learning process however, I am aware that as a junior, my duities may be limited to begin with.

What can you do to ensure that the guests are enjoying themselves, without asking them? 

I would aim to maintain frequent observation, gaining eye contact and an a smile when appropriate. In addition I would establish whether there was anything further I could offer them or any activities they may be interested to ensure that they were happy.
