Why did you leave your most recent position? 

My most recent position as a stewardess was terminated due to the boat being sold. The entire crew was let go, as the new owner wanted french-speaking crew.

What kind of hobbies do you have, or what do you like to do in your free time?  

Hobbies include snowboarding, jogging, travelling, reading, music, photography and art.

Is the yachting industry a career for you, or more of a sabbatical?  

Hospitality is an industry in which I find enjoyment and satisfaction. Combined with my love of boating and the sea, I can forsee myself making a career out of the yachting industry.

Describe what type of situation on board you feel you would fit in best? 

As someone who likes to be keep busy I feel I would fit a role of a stewardess on a busy charter yacht. I also feel I would benefit from working on a larger yacht with more crew, as I enjoy being surrounded by a diversity of people.

What can you do to ensure that guest service remains the primary focus of your job, even when they are difficult or demanding? 

I believe the most important skill for a stewardess to have is the ability to use initiative. In addition to this, attention to detail and good time management are essential for ensuring guest service is my number one priotity. Difficult and demanding guests a common in the yachting industy so it is important to stay focused and to do my job to the best of my ability.

How do you feel the Service, Cabins, and Laundry duties should be shared between the interior crew? 

Depending on how many interior crew there are, or their level of experience, each interior member should be allocated the job which best suits them. This should be their main priority, however if needed, they should also help out in other areas. If it is a small vessel, service, cabins and laundry should be shared between the interior crew on a rotar basis.

What can you do to ensure that the guests are enjoying themselves, without asking them? 

By ensuring there is always someone around to take any of the guests' requests, this will ensure that any problems can be addressed immediately. In addition to this, all crew should be working to a professional standard so that the charter can run smoothly and the yacht will always be spotless.

What do you feel is the primary responsibility of the Deckhand, aside from the exterior maintenance of the vessel? 

I believe the primary resposiblity of the deckhand is to ensure the safety of all people on board. This means constantly being aware of any dangers surrounding the vessel, or any hazrds on the vessel.

What do you feel is the most important quality for a successful Deckhand to have? 

I feel the most important quality for a deckhand to have is to be hard working. This is due to the damanding and physical requirements of the job, as well as the constant need to be on the look out for hazards.
