General
Why did you leave your most recent position? Looking for better fit.
What kind of hobbies do you have, or what do you like to do in your free time?  Golf, hiking.
Is the yachting industry a career for you, or more of a sabbatical?  Yes. I have done many things, and this is the best fit for me.
Describe what type of situation on board you feel you would fit in best? Open communication with owners and crew.
Captain
How much freedom do you feel an Owner should allow his Captain in terms of hiring crew? If it is something the owner wants to get involved in, great. We would fill the position/positions as a group.
What do you do when you disagree with the Owner? Work it out so both parties agree with the end result. At the end of the day, it's their boat.
How do you handle conflicts between crew members? Figure out what the problem is and resolve it.
How much down time do you feel a yacht needs each year, to ensure a safe and happy crew? Each program is different. Crew should be able to have down time and spend time with family and friends and also be there for the boat. Just have to make it work.
How much time is the maximum time that should pass between emergency procedure drills on board? Once a year unless situation calls for more frequent.
What do you feel is the most important quality for a successful Captain to have? Skills in boat handling, management, conflict resolution, people pleaser, and I can get anything done attitude. Not necessarily in that order.
