| How much freedom do you feel an Owner should allow his Captain in terms of hiring crew? I feel the owner should be able to trust his Captain to hire the right crew. This will be a partnership built up as the Captain gets to know the owners likes. Initially more input from the owner until the Captain gets to know the owners preferences. |

| What do you do when you disagree with the Owner? Politely offer advise. In matters of the vessels safety by law the Captain must be allowed the final say, in other matters the owners word goes. |

| How do you handle conflicts between crew members? Get them together to find out what is causing the conflict. Talk it through to resolve it. If it is not possible to resolve then one or both will have to go. |

| How much down time do you feel a yacht needs each year, to ensure a safe and happy crew? I think this depends on the workload on the yacht. If its not in use it will not require the downtime a yacht being chartered does. |

| How much time is the maximum time that should pass between emergency procedure drills on board? Two weeks, |

| What do you feel is the most important quality for a successful Captain to have? Integrity. Followed by experience and people skills. The owner has to be able to trust his Captain implicitly. |
