What can you do to ensure that guest service remains the primary focus of your job, even when they are difficult or demanding?

Having worked in fields that are all about guest service I have had many experiences where clients/guests have been very demanding and difficult. I believe that you always have to approach every situation with a positive can-do attitude. When a difficult situation arises it is important to always remain calm and think about what is best for the guest/client in the situation and to always aim for exceptional service at all times. If the guest needs something or wants something it is my job to try an accommodate to the best of my ability.

How do you feel the Service, Cabins, and Laundry duties should be shared between the interior crew?

I believe that it is a good idea to have some sort of rotation that way the same person does not get stuck doing the same thing everyday. One day you are on service with the guests and then the next you have a day in the laundry, etc. I believe that is the best way to keep things fair and to also help with stressful situations that may arise with guests, etc.

What can you do to ensure that the guests are enjoying themselves, without asking them?

By always being one step ahead of the guest. If the guest are going to spend the day at the beach, it would be a good idea to have a bag packed for them with all the essentials they would need to enjoy there day. It is my job as a stew to think one to two steps ahead so that they do not have to ask. Make sure to always go that extra mile to ensure that the guests feel they are being well taken care of.
