2nd STEWARDESS
JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Function

Responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the interior of the vessel and producing a superior hospitable service in line with the owner and managing company’s expectations.  Hostess skills should be well developed in accordance with former stewardess practice (possible charter experience) to fully accommodate the owners and their guests while onboard.  Tableside service from a guerdon cart, bartending and/or cocktail party experience is required.  Direct supervision comes from the Chief Stewardess and the Captain of the vessel. 

 

Responsibilities

  1. Largely responsible for applying excellent service, on occasion formal tableside service from a guerdon cart, and expert bartending skills while continuing to maintain interior housekeeping during a trip.
  2. Contributes towards a consciousness of the need for teamwork to obtain interior objectives.
  3. Maintains good housekeeping of the interior and a positive, high-energy work attitude at all times.
  4. Assists with physical product inventories, provisioning, writing & updating checklists, and all other applicable tasks within interior.
  5. Participates in the creative planning and quality service of theme dinners relative to location.
  6. Projects enthusiasm and flexibility at all times (particularly when owners and guests are on board) by taking a positive, high-energy approach to all requests and tasks.
  7. Creates personal performance assessments and evaluations.
  8. Assumes full responsibility for certain onboard safety tasks (as assigned by the First Mate).
  9. Conscientiously covers watch in accordance with the list of responsibilities in the crew mess.

Qualifications

  • Former Yacht or Charter experience as a stewardess
  • Tableside service with guerdon, bartending/cocktail party experience or equivalent qualification
  • Drivers License to assist with yacht provisioning when required
  • Enthusiastic, professional approach
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and long hours to achieve set outcomes
  • An ability to contribute to and further develop a harmonious ambience while living on board
  • STCW 95, Basic/Advanced First Aid, CPR, Automated External Defibrillator.
