JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Function

Responsible for the upkeep of the exterior of the vessel, all deck equipment and maintenance, safe docking procedures.

Responsibilities

1. To understand and carry out watches, both underway and as Designated Duty Person (DDP)
2. To ensure safe shipboard procedures when docking by using lines, fenders, and boat hooks etc. and other procedures e.g. refueling, disposing of shipboard waste etc.
3. Understanding and implementing maritime flag, anchor, navigation lights and tender protocols, as per the First Mate’s orders.
4. Ensure the guests are assisted with their baggage, water toys, shore excursions and service as requested by them.
5. Ensuring every work area is presentable at all times, regardless of activity.
6. Presenting a professional attitude and appearance in all situations.
7. Keeping updated records of products used and required for the deck department as per the First Officer’s requests.

Qualifications

• STCW 95
• Any other licensing that may be required by the individual vessel: USCG 50Ton, 100 Ton, RYA YachtMaster offshore.
• CPR, First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator usage.
